William Denny “Bill” Steger, Jr., 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Grace Fellowship at South Park with Pastor Mark Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
A native of Pulaski, VA, he was a son of the late William Denny and Mary Sue Miles Steger and he had lived in Reidsville most of his life. Bill was the organist at Grace Fellowship for 44 years and he sang at many weddings and funerals in the area. He was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and he taught piano lessons for many years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Sid Steger and a sister: Emily Thomas.
Surviving is his wife of 46 years: Karen Handy Steger of Reidsville, daughter: Paige S. Walker (David) of Reidsville, brother: John Steger (Robin) of Dublin, VA, brother-in-law: Keith Handy (Donna) of Reidsville, and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the home of Keith Handy 2604 Ashcroft Dr. Reidsville, NC 27320. People wishing to pay their respects may come by Citty Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, and on Thursday, January 12, 2023, prior to the funeral service.
