William Randolph Kirby

William Randolph “Bill” Kirby, 69, of Reidsville, NC went to his Heavenly Home on Sunday afternoon January 24, 2021. Bill left an impression on everyone who had the privilege to meet him. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to go camping, hunting, fishing and all adventures and mostly telling the tall tales of them all. Bill worked at Duval Corp. (Copper Mining) in Tucson, AZ as a heavy equipment operator, he retired from the Machine Shop at Cone Mills, Inc. but most recently enjoyed long haul trucking. Bill was a Vietnam Navy Veteran serving on Submarine USS Greenling and as a Fighting Seabee in the Pacific Islands. During his time in the Navy, he received several Expert Marksmanship medals. Bill was a member of the Ridgeway Church of Christ. Bill will be remembered as having the biggest heart, only surpassed by his smile that always lit up the room. He was a fierce and loyal friend. Family always came first and he kept everyone close. He loved his wife, his girls, and his grandchildren with all of his might. Bill enjoyed entertaining and cooking for everyone. He loved to make pepperoni rolls and homemade bread for his grandchildren. Bill loved all things John Wayne and enjoyed watching old movies. Bill is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Wadsworth of the home, sister Shirley (Carroll) Miller of Buffalo, WV daughters Tami (Jeff) Baysinger of Reidsville and Tiffany (Gary) Handy of Kernersville, 9 grandchildren and as well as his nieces and nephews and other extended family. Randy is preceded in death by his father and mother Charles Cecil and Freda Mae Hall Kirby of Fairmont, WV, his daughter Tina Marie Alvarez of Reidsville, NC, sisters Charlotte Ann Lacy and Shelba Jean Bock of Fairmont, WV. The family will receive guests at the home of his daughter Tami (715 Southard St. Reidsville)In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
