William Douglas Howell

William Douglas “Doug” Howell of Eden, went to be with the Lord Sunday August 17, 2025 at his home.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, August 26,2025, at 2:00 PM in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Monday, August 25, 2025, at Citty Funeral Home.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of Dainty Pauline Hylton Howell Joyce and the late Noel Dalton Howell and had lived in Eden his entire life. He was a former employee of Sara Lee where he worked for 28 years until he started Howell Lawn Care in 2004. Doug was a member of the NRA, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his father:  Noel Dalton Howell and a sister: Kathie Howell Scott.

Survivors include his daughter: Beth Howell of Eden, his mother: Dainty H. Joyce of Eden, his brother: Robert Earl Howell (Tammy) of Critz, VA, and his grandchildren: Tyler Howell, Hunter Criner (Katelyn) and Railey Criner, the mother of his child, Lisa S. Howell of Eden.
