William Garrison Obituary

William Wayne Garrison, 75, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Wednesday May 26, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 29, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Duke officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens with Military and Masonic Graveside Rites.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Thomas William and Louise Talley Garrison and had lived his entire life in Rockingham County. He began his career as a Guilford County Sheriff’s Deputy, then served as a Reidsville Police Officer, then served as an ABC Commission Officer and then served as a Deputy with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office. In 1990 he became the 911 Director for Rockingham County and retired in 2000 as the Emergency Services Director for Rockingham County. He was a member of Jefferson Penn Masonic Lodge #384 AF&AM, The Fraternal Order of Police, The NC Sheriff Association, the NC Cattleman’s Association, and the American Legion. Wayne was a US Air Force Veteran, attended First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Adam Bowes Garrison, and a grandson: William Zayne Garrison.

Survivors include: sons: Thomas Wayne Garrison (Michelle), Brandon Scot Allen (Brittany), William Zachary Garrison (fiancé Cameron), and Charles Gray Garrison (Taylor) all of Reidsville, daughters: Shannon Marie Garrison, and Mason Garrison Butt (Caleb) both of Reidsville, brother: Charles Hunter Garrison (Cindy) of Reidsville, sister: Dorothy Gray Garrison of Reidsville, grandchildren: Jordan Levi Garrison (Camry), Lachlan Taylor, Addisyn Haley, Kyrie Seraphine, Riley Sunshine, Skylar Elayne Ferrell, Minter Levi Ferrell, Charles Adam Garrison, Chandler Belle Garrison, and Cooper Layne Butt. Great grandchildren: Lincoln Gray Garrison and Grant Phillip Garrison.

The family will see friends Saturday May 29, 2021 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church before the funeral service and at other times will be at the residence.
