William Ernest Futch, Jr.

William Ernest “Bill” Futch, Jr., of Madison, NC went to be with the Lord Monday July 7, 2025 at Moses Cone Hospital Greensboro, NC. A son of the late William Ernest Futch and Ruth Lillie Saddler Futch, he had lived most of his life in Coastal, NC and later lived in Charlotte, NC before moving to Madison, NC ten years ago to be near family.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held 2:00 till 5:00 PM Saturday July 19, 2025 at Citty Funeral Home 308 Lindsey St. Reidsville, NC.

Known to his family and friends as Bill, he grew up with his family calling him Billy and he hated it. He was a retired ordained Freewill Baptist Minister.  After retirement from the ministry, he taught IB Arts (with a love for pottery) at Independence High School in Charlotte, NC and then retired a second time from teaching.  Bill left this world after a very short illness; he was a big man with a big heart.  He loved laughing, photography, art, music, food, but most of all his family.  Right now, we can't grasp what this world will be like without him in it.  We’re sure he is giving his deceased parents a hug and asking “Do you want to hear a new joke?”.  We all love you Bill and will miss you always.

Survivors include his wife: Linda Alice Worthington Futch of Madison, son: William Michael Futch and wife Kangli Liu Futch of Tacoma, WA, daughter: Trumilla Futch Morris, DDS and husband Paul Kyler Morris, DDS, brother: David Bryan Futch and wife JoLynn Hardison Futch of Currie, NC, sister: Falvette Futch of New Conover, NC, and his loving grandchildren: William Haobo Futch, Levi Haoyang Futch, Celeste Avery Morris, Kyler Grant Morris, and Bill’s extended family members.
