Walter John Peelman

Walter John Peelman, 81, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday May 24, 2022 at Annie Penn Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday May 30, 2022 at Holy Infant Catholic Church with Father Frank Seabo officiating. Inurnment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park Cincinnati, Ohio at a later date. The family will see friends following the service in Lufty Hall. Anyone is welcome to come by Citty Funeral Home 8:00 till 6:00 P.M. Sunday May 29, 2022 to sign a register and show your respects.

A native of Cincinnati, OH, he was a son of the late Walter and Frieda Bonnell Peelman and had lived in North Carolina for the past 38 years moving here from Ohio. A retired graphic designer with Mobil Chemical Co., he later worked at Lowe’s Home Improvement of Reidsville. He was a US Air Force Veteran and attended Holy Infant Catholic Church. Walter was a former 4-H advisor, a former Boy Scout leader, a member of the Ham Radio Club, and was a Star Trek fan. He enjoyed fishing, camping and all outdoor activities. Walter was an accomplished portrait artist and photographer and was preceded in death by an infant great grandson: Kayden Eugene Sapp.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years: Georgia Vance Peelman of the home, daughters: Helen P. Hazelwood (Billy) of Mayodan, and Susan P. Myrick (Joey) of Reidsville, sons: Russell James Peelman (Bonnie) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Andrew Alan Peelman of Hamilton, OH, sister: Connie S. Peelman of Cincinnati, OH, grandchildren: Johnathan Young, Samantha Wines, Courtney Myrick, Adam Myrick, Lucas Myrick, and Ethan Myrick, great grandchildren: Destiny Wines, Raevyn Wines, and Mason Carey.
