Walter Lewis Ellington, Jr., 72, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Sovah Health in Danville, VA.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Citty Funeral Home Chapel and burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will see friends from 1:00PM till 2:00PM Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
A native of Greensboro, he was a son of the late Walter Lewis and Billie Jean Webster Ellington and he had lived in Reidsville for the past 36 years. Mr. Ellington was a retired fabrication welder and he loved hunting and fishing in his earlier years. He loved cars and especially classics. Mr. Ellington was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters: Karen and Marla.
Surviving is his wife: Carol Sawyers Ellington of the home, his son: Walter Lewis “Trey” Ellington III (Carla) of Pfafftown, his step-son: Tony Lee Walker (Christy) of Reidsville, his grandchildren: Alyssa Ellington, Summer Ellington, Tatum Ellington, Lennex Walker, Austin Walker, and Paige Edwards (Bryson), and his great grandchildren: Ruby Walker, Daniel Walker, and Raelynn Walker.
