Virginia Pierce Groff

Virginia Pierce Groff, 99, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Penn Nursing Center.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2021, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robbie Page officiating.

A native of Statesville, NC she was a daughter of the late Gurney Moses Pierce and Lillian Sarah Pierce and she had lived in Reidsville most of her life.  She was a retired Teachers Aide at Franklin St. Elementary School and a former tour guide at Chinqua Penn Plantation.  Virginia was a member of Baptist Temple Church where she taught Sunday school and she was a member of the Home Demonstration Club.  Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband; Robert Lee “Buck” Groff.

She is survived by her sons; Don Groff and his wife; Judy of Asheville and Bob Groff and his wife; Teresa of Reidsville, her daughter; Sandra G. Page of Charlotte, her brothers; Freddie Pierce of Statesville and Dave Pierce and his wife; Jane of Greensboro, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
