Vicki Carroll (Patterson) Perdew

Vicki Patterson Perdew, 76, of Greensboro, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Citty Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Eggars officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Born in Rockingham County, Vicki was the daughter of the late Calvin Paul “Pat” and Nancy Carroll Patterson. For more than 40 years, she made Greensboro her home, touching lives with her warmth, humor, and generous spirit.

Vicki lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to the things she enjoyed most. A graduate of Wentworth High School, she was crowned Homecoming Queen and named an All-Star basketball player. She later became the first coach of the Greensboro’s ladies’ basketball team, leading them to a City Championship. Her competitive nature and passion for sports—especially her devotion to Dale Earnhardt racing— were well known to her family and friends.

After a time with the United States Postal Service, Vicki embraced retirement by cheering on her favorite teams, traveling, and treasuring time with loved ones.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 57 years, Barry Perdew, of the home; her cherished son, Brad Perdew, of Greensboro; and her loving sister, Mitzi Collins, of Ruffin. She will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, and love, which will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
