Thomas Euclid McKenzie, Jr.

Thomas Euclid “Tom” McKenzie, Jr., 95, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Friday January 16, 2026 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

A private graveside service will be conducted in Greenview Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.

A native of Bennettsville, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas E and Anjell Easterling McKenzie and had lived in Reidsville since 1970. A Korean War Era US Navy veteran, he served as a Navy Medic. A member of First Baptist Church in Reidsville, Tom received a baseball scholarship to attend Presbyterian College, where he was a member of KA Social Fraternity. After college, he played minor league baseball in Red Springs, NC for the Philadelphia Athletics affiliate in Red Springs. He later coached Little League and played  softball for many years. A retired Group Administration Manager for Burlington Industries, he was an avid Duke Blue Devils, New York Yankees, and Carolina Hurricanes fan. Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Frankie Jo Cox McKenzie.

Survivors include his sons: Keith McKenzie and Mike McKenzie, both of Reidsville, grandsons: Jeremy McKenzie and Patrick McKenzie (Cielo) and a great granddaughter: Maddie McKenzie.
