Thomas Wayne "Tommy" Hurt

Thomas W. “Tommy” Hurt, 78, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Friday February 6, 2026 at Annie Penn Hospital.

The family will conduct a memorial service 2:00 P.M. Friday February 13, 2026 at Growing Oaks Community Church with Dr. Greg Robertson and Dr. Allen Hawkins officiating. A private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Tommy was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late Charlie L. and Elizabeth Walker Hurt and had lived most of his life in Reidsville. He was a former employee of Advanced Home Care in Greensboro and was a member of Growing Oaks Community Church. He loved volunteering with the Reidsville Senior High School football team and did so for a number of years. He also coached football, basketball and softball in his younger years for the Reidsville Recreation Department and the Reidsville YMCA. He enjoyed working in his yard and making walking sticks. He loved cats and had many as pets throughout his life.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years Patricia Hawkins Hurt of the home, a sister: Judy Hurt (Bill Kornegay) of Randleman, an aunt: Jackie Tatum of Greensboro and his pet felines Milo and Junior.
