Thomas Marvin "Tommy" Calhoun

Thomas M. “Tommy” Calhoun, 79, went to be with the Lord Wednesday December 1, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Monday December 6, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. John Wicker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. There will be no formal visitation, the family will see friends at the residence.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Troy Marvin and Ruth Wyrick Calhoun and had lived in Rockingham County most of his life. He was a retired employee of Macfield and later Unifi where he worked as a fixer. Mr. Calhoun served in the US Marine Corps and was a member of American Legion Post# 79.He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening especially his tomatoes. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife: Nancy McKinney Calhoun, a daughter: Rhonda C. Wicker, sisters: Margie Canady and Shirley Garrett and a brother: Phillip Calhoun.

Survivors include his son: Phillip Calhoun of the home, son-in-law: John Wicker of Burlington, grandchildren: Cameron Calhoun, Rebekah Warren (David), Austin Wicker, and Cordale Wicker (Brittany), great grandchildren: Haisley Wicker and Olivia Warren.
