Steve Crouse Obituary


Steve Clark Crouse, 68, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 31, 2026.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Reidsville Christian Church with Rev. Shannon Newsome officiating. The Burial will be in the Berean Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville, NC around 3:00 P.M. The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.


A native of Reidsville, he was a son of the late Robert Elderage “Bob” Crouse Jr. and Rebecca Sue Shropshire Crouse, had lived his entire life in Reidsville. He was a 1976 graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, attended Guilford College where he played golf, and was a member of Reidsville Christian Church. He retired from warehousing and wholesale sales of heating and air, and had worked for several companies throughout his career. An avid golfer, Steve was one of the best amateur golfers in the area. He participated in and won many tournaments throughout his life and some of the ones he was most proud of winning were the Rockingham County Amateur Tournament, Club Championships at Wolf Creek and Plantation, The Father Son Tournament at Caswell Pines with his father Bob, and The Father Son Tournament with his son Luke at The Cardinal Country Club. He was preceded in death by his in-laws: Howard Bennett and Dot Wood Wagoner.


Beyond golf, Steve will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone at the drop of a hat and the love he shared with family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, integrity, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.


Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Elizabeth Wagoner Crouse of the home, sons: Wade T. Crouse of Reidsville, and Richard L. Crouse (Denise) of Reidsville, and Luke A. Crouse (Mallorie) of Ruffin, brother: Mark Crouse (Fabiana) of Reidsville, brother-in-law Keith Wagoner (Susan) of Wilmington, nephew Paul Wagoner (Jenny), great-niece Savannah Wagoner, and his grandchildren: Elizabeth “Lizzie” Crouse and William Crouse whom he adored.
