Shelby Smith Wetmore, 86 of Reidsville went to be with her Lord Wednesday September 11, 2024 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC
There will be no formal memorial services.
A native of Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Elsie and Lois Parrish Smith and had lived in Rockingham County most of her life. A retired employee of Mayberry Restaurant and Ice Cream Shop, she was a longtime faithful member of Speedwell Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels from her porch and watching CNN constantly on television.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Herman Wetmore, her son: Lewis Wetmore, her daughter-in-law: Deborah Wetmore and her sister: Loretta “Fern” Jones.
Survivors include her son: David H. Wetmore of Walkertown, NC her brother: Colin Smith (Jo) of Reidsville, her sister: Patricia “Pat” Hall of Greensboro, grandchildren: Jody Smith (Adam), April Tucker, Heather Slate (Patrick), great grandchildren: Julie Tucker, Samantha Tucker, Jesse Slate (Hallie), Jay Slate, Tyler Smith, Brock Smith, and Sam Smith.
