Sandra Strider Vernon

Sandra Strider Vernon, 75, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 21, 2026, in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Heath Lloyd officiating.

A lifelong resident of Rockingham Co., she was a daughter of the late Cleo and Viola Ferguson Strider and she had lived in the Monroeton Community most of her life. Sandra was a graduate of Reidsville Sr. High School, a retired employee of Proctor and Gamble, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law: Wayne and Bobbie Bailey Strider.

She is survived by her son: David A. Vernon, Jr. of McLeansville and her brother Mark Strider (Heather) of Reidsville,  David A. Vernon, Sr. of Reidsville and Dwayne Ore of Kernersville. As well as nephew Keith Strider (Cynthia) of Randleman, niece Kelley Pegelow (Justin) of Greensboro, and dear cousins: Dianne Barber (Wayne) and Linda Glaspie (Mike) of Reidsville.

Also left to cherish her memory are many other cousins, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. As well as her dear friend, Vickie Doss of Reidsville.

She loved animals very much and she missed her precious dog "Mouse" every day. Anyone who knew her knew how she loved auctions, yard sales, Goodwill and the Salvation Army.

Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Vernon family and the family requests that memorials be made to your local animal shelter.
