Ronald Ray Barker, Sr., 77, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Sunday February 21, 2021 at his home. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday February 24, 2021 in Evergreen Memory Gardens. A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late James Currie and Lula Pryor Barker and had lived his entire life in Rockingham County. He was a retired truck driver/mechanic for Burton Lines and later with the City of Reidsville Sanitation Department. A member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir, he was a former member of the Reidsville Rescue Squad, and was an avid Reidsville Rams football fan. Ronald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and any outdoor activities, playing music, and making people laugh. He was preceded in death by: sisters: Dorothy Barber and Robbie Eaton. Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Marvina Barham Barker of the home, son: Ronald Barker, Jr. and his wife Angie of Elon, daughters: Ronda B. Peoples and husband Eric and Regina B. Brooks and husband Kris both of Reidsville, brother: James E. Barker and wife Susan of Elon, grandchildren: Erica Peoples, Morgan Lester and husband Jacob, Savannah Amey and husband Max, Jacob Barker, Austin Brooks, and Tanner Brooks, great grandchildren: Everett Lester, Eliza Lester, Lily Taylor-Brooks. The family would like to give special thanks to his church family for all the prayers and support as well as his special friends from Hardees, whom he treasured.
