Robert Ernest Watkins, 59, went to be with the Lord Thursday April 30, 2020 at Pelican Health Care in Reidsville, NC

There will be no formal funeral services at this time.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Ernest Watkins, Jr. and Dorothy Sullivan Watkins and had lived in Rockingham County most of his life. He was a former textile worker and was an avid Washington Redskins fan, enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Dick and Mattie Sullivan, his paternal grandparents: Ernest and Martha Watkins and a nephew: Christopher Lynn Williams.

Surviving is his daughter; Megan Hogan (Chad) of Danville, VA, sisters; Janet Williams (Mark) of Reidsville, Debra Washburn of Reidsville, Cindy Watkins of Reidsville, and Linda Routh of Burlington, and granddaughter; Ranie Hogan.
