Robert Lee Daniel , DDS

 Robert Lee “Bob” Daniel, DDS, 99, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 27, 2026 at the Penn Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday February 4, 2026 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Lance Cole officiating. A reception in the church fellowship hall will follow the service for a time to visit with the family. A private committal service with military rites will be in Greenview Cemetery.

A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late John Robert and Mary Thacker Daniel and had lived most of his life in Reidsville. He attended Elon College where he obtained his undergraduate degree and was in the first Dental School class at UNC Chapel Hill. Following his graduation in 1954, he opened his dental office in Reidsville, where he practiced for 39 years. Bob was a US Navy veteran of WWII, and was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church. He had been a Trustee, Deacon, Choir Member and Sunday School Teacher along with serving on many committees throughout his life at the church. He was a member of the Reidsville Lions Club for over 70 years, where he was past president and inducted into the N.C. Lions Hall of Fame. He had served as president of the Reidsville Chamber of Commerce and had previously served on the Executive Board of the Cherokee Council Boy Scouts of America. He took part in the Flight of Honor and was a Habitat for Humanity sponsor. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife: Margaret Gerringer Daniel.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Shirley Williams Daniel of the home, son: Dan Daniel (Karen) of Reidsville, daughters: Karen Daniel Bailey (Jim) of Charlotte, Tracy Williams Minter (Keith) of Fayetteville, and June Williams of Raleigh, grandchildren: Katherine Reynolds (Dylan), Eleanor Cochrane (Gabe), Avery Cherry (Joe), Ashton Bathie (Blake), Cole Minter (Hannah), and Mallory Smith (Jordan), nine great grandchildren.
