Richard Moore

Richard J. Moore, 69, of Reidsville, NC, passed away peacefully on 11/18/2021 at Wesley Long Hospital.  Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. After completing his education at LSU and WCU, Richard began his career at American Tobacco Company where he worked for 20 years before following his dream to open “The Bookstore”. There he lived his love for books, music and entertainment.  His passion for the truth led him to follow another dream.  Writing.  He began composing the “Neely Chronicle” to put his thoughts and opinions on paper for others to either love, hate or appreciate.  Richard then enjoyed retirement,  reading, writing and spending time with family.   He is survived by his wife Debbie Todd Moore, daughter and son in law, Jeni and Richard Miller, son Matt Moore, grandson Jack Miller and brother Robert Moore. He was preceded in death by his brother Kevin Moore.

“Well hear us now, we ain’t wasting time no more.  Cause time goes by like hurricanes.  Running after subway trains.  Don’t forget the pouring rain.”   Gone too soon.  We love you.    Visitation will be held at Citty Funeral Home, 308 Lindsey St, Reidsville, NC, on Saturday, 11/20 from 3:00-5:00 pm and at other times will be at the home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family asks that masks be worn. The family will have a private service at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Help, Inc of Rockingham County PO Box 16,Wentworth, NC 27375.
