Richard Dean Clinton, born December 7, 1963, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 16, 2025, he was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Richie, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family , friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the way that his life was lived and the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2025,in Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Joe Cobb and Rev. John Kuster officiating. The family will see friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Monday, October 20, 2025, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his son.
Richie grew up and spent most of his life in Reidsville then lived in Durham for the past 30 years. He was a member of Grace Fellowship formerly First Congregational Christian Church and the Riders Motorcycle Club. Richie was employed at Southern Door Service as a garage door installer and was formerly employed with Montgomery Elevator Company. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work and he had the ability to fix almost anything. When Richie wasn’t fixing something, he spent time with his grandchildren, caring for his beloved animals, and watching his favorite show, Skinwalker Ranch. He was a very proud Papa and loved all of his grandchildren dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father: Grady Lawson Clinton, his mother: Mary Magdalene London, his aunt: Claudia Carroll Gay, his brother: Bruce Lawson Clinton, his son-in-law: Jason Breedlove, his sister: Mary London and his nephew: Timmy Bolden. Richie is survived by his wife: Sandy Piner Clinton of the home, and his children, Jessica Breedlove (Dusty) of Elon, Richard Dean Clinton, Jr (Angela) of Ruffin, Joseph Daniel Riley and Tyler Shane Smith of Durham, and Elizabeth Clinton (Nicholas Overaker) of Raleigh, his sister: Teresa C. Bolden (Tim) of Martinsville, his half-sister: Chrystal Soohey (Lonnie) of Ohio and his grandchildren: Landon Richards, Amirah Zamudio, August Zamudio, and Alaina Clinton.
