Rex Lee Laxton, 80, of Reidsville NC passed away peacefully Wednesday April 29, 2020 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The burial will be in New York. Rex was born in Dudley Shoals, NC on November 25, 1939 to the late Herman and Clarabelle Tolbert Laxton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Rex retired as a supervisor with Equity Meats in Reidsville in 1998. Rex is preceded in death by his son David Lee Laxton, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Chyrl Proper Laxton of the home, daughter Lori Laxton Thorn (Tommy), grandchildren Jake Dickerson (Tiffany), Sam Thorn, Helen Thorn, and Great Grandchildren Jillian and Johnny Dickerson, brother Cletus Eugene Laxton (Shirley) of Granite Falls, NC, and sister Annabelle Walden of Cincinnati, OH.
