Randall Keith "Randy" Overby

Randall Keith “Randy” Overby, 71, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Friday March 15, 2024 at AuthoraCare Collective- Burlington (formerly Hospice Home of Alamance Co.). Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 23, 2024 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Greg Robertson and Rev. Victor Johnson officiating. The family will see friends following the service at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of his brother Wes Overby 1210 Morgan Dr. Reidsville, NC. A native of Reidsville, he was a son of the late Clyde W. and Otelia Smith Overby and had lived his entire life in Reidsville. He was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High and Elon College, and was the co-owner/operator of Short Sugar’s #2 with his brother Wes. Randy enjoyed all sports, whether it was high school, college or professional attending games or watching them on television, and loved to discuss the games after their conclusion. He announced RSH football games on radio WFRC, was the former governor of the Reidsville Moose Lodge and was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, and in his younger life,  played softball, and was a member of the first basketball team at RCC.  He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Pringle Overby, his parents: Clyde W. and Otelia Smith Overby and an infant sister: Tina Beth Overby. Survivors include his brother: Wesley “Wes” Overby (Esther) of Reidsville, stepdaughter: Amber McIntyre (Braxton) of Gibsonville, nieces: Deana Thomas (Josh) of Newport, NC and Melodie Royster (Jason) of Reidsville, step-grandchildren: Gracie and Tate Pegram and Reagan McIntyre of Gibsonville, maternal uncle: O.R. Smith (Judy) of Burlington, paternal aunt: Barbara Overby McCollum (Ed) of Reidsville, great nieces and nephews: Leighton Royster, Weston Thomas, and Harrison Thomas, and numerous cousins.
