Paul Roosevelt Roach

Paul Roosevelt Roach, 93, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 PM Saturday February 28, 2026 at Baptist Temple Church with Rev. Ryan Burris, Rev, George Fox and Rev. Lyle Milligan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will see friends 12:00 till 1:30 P.M. Saturday February 28, 2026 at Baptist Temple Church prior to the service.  At other times the family will be at the home of his daughter: Lisa R. Johnson 135 Longbow Rd. Reidsville, NC.

A native of the Midway Community of Pittsylvania County, Virginia,  he was a son of the late William Gabriel and Mary Brooks Roach. He lived most of his life in Reidsville. He was  staff manager for  Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company office in Reidsville before retiring after 35 years. Paul was a very active member of Baptist Temple Church, where he  served as director of the Mountain Climbers,  Deacon,  Sunday School Teacher, and moderator for the Dan Valley Baptist Association. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and golf. He was super proud of his hole-in-one at Monticello Golf Course. He also volunteered driving seniors to doctor’s appointments for many years and was a former member of the Reidsville Lions Club. Paul also enjoyed serving as a voter precinct worker. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Marie Zimmerman Roach, an infant son, brothers: William Roach, Kermit Roach, Thomas Roach, Woodrow Roach, Jack Roach and Oscar Roach, and his sisters: Effie Newman and Louise Newman.

Dad “Paw Paw’s” survivors include his sons:  Rodger P. Roach (Judy) of Burlington and Lynnwood M. “Lynn” Roach (Karen) of High Point and his daughter: Lisa Roach Johnson (Phillip) of Reidsville, grandchildren: Tyler Roach (Laura), Tiffany Dunn (Curtis), Mark Roach (Elizabeth), Molly Spangler (Luke), Hannah Neal (Eric), and Matthew Johnson (Sabrina), great-grandchildren: Ella, Sophie, Chloe, Miller, Kylie, Kate, Caleb, Emerson, Eleanor, and Natalie.

The family is very grateful for his wonderful caregivers: Debbie Merricks, Karen Gibson and the tremendous staff of Ancora Compassionate Care. Their love, care and compassion was always beyond expectations.
