Patricia Brooks "Pat" Powell

Patricia Brooks “Pat” Powell, 71, of Reidsville, passed on to her heavenly home on April 8, 2025, at Ancora Compassionate Care, Hospice of Rockingham County.  A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Gordon and Thelma Pike Brooks and lived all of her life in Reidsville.  She worked for The Baptist Temple Daycare, Stroud Insurance, North Carolina Farm Bureau and Barber’s Florist.  She was a committed member of The Baptist Temple and she faithfully taught Sunday School for over 30 years.  Pat loved being surrounded by her family, decorating her home for each holiday, shopping with her friends and sisters and spoiling her loved ones with gifts.  She brought immense joy to her friends, family and neighbors at Christmas each year by creating an enchanting wonderland for the holiday with beautiful wreaths, scented candles, glittering lights and adorned trees in every room of her home with hundreds of sentimental ornaments.  Her love for the season was contagious and will forever be cherished and missed. 

Pat’s family will honor her in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 4:00PM, at Citty Funeral Home Chapel, 308 Lindsey Street, Reidsville, NC.  The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens, 7875 US-158, Reidsville, NC.  The family will receive friends for visitation at Citty Funeral Home from 3:00PM to 4:00PM on April 12, 2025, and other times at the home of her sister Margie Tuttle.

Patricia is survived by her son, Brandon Powell and wife Courtney, daughter, Erin Purgason and husband Jason, sister, Margie Tuttle, grandchildren Madilyn, Josie, Grace, Shane, Faith, Adrien, Casey, Kaiden, Chyler, her companion, Everet “Pro” Stroop and a number of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.  Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia “Ginger” Grogan and her brother Phillip Brooks and wife Ginny.
