Nola Moore Halbrook, 95, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 16, 2022, at Brookdale Assisted Living of Reidsville. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will see friends 1:00 till 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Citty Funeral Home before the service. The family will gather at her home following the committal at Evergreen Memory Gardens. A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Grace Wells Moore and lived her entire life in Rockingham County.  A retired employee of American Tobacco Company, she was a member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. Nola was a graduate of Bethany High School where she was captain of the basketball team. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii. She had a green thumb and was known for her geraniums. Nola enjoyed going out to eat although she was great cook and made the best German chocolate pie and fruit salad on Christmas morning. Her favorite food to eat was ice cream, she was often heard to say you are never too full for ice cream. She enjoyed visits from friends and family and inviting people to church; but the highlight of her life was being with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Howard R. Halbrook, a son: Larry Baynes, brothers: Dennis Moore, Dwight Moore and David Moore, and sisters: Nellie Hayes and Lady Dodson. Survivors include her son: Johnny Baynes (Cookie) of Greensboro, step-sons: Robert Harvey Halbrook (Darlene) of Reidsville, and Barry Davis of Reidsville, step-daughter: Cheryl D. Cook (David) of Eden, special sister-in-law: Evelyn Moore, her canine grand dog Rusty, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorials may be sent to: Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375, or to Lawsonville Road Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1584, Reidsville, NC   27323-1584.
