Nannie Bailey Strickland

Nannie “Nan” Bailey Strickland, 88, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Friday June 26, 2026 at her home after a long battle with dementia.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday June 30, 2026 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Worley officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends 1:00 till 2:00 P.M. Tuesday June 30, 2026 before the service at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at her home 1330 Cotswald Terrace Reidsville, NC.

A daughter of Sam Henry and Mary Emma Keen Bailey, she lived her entire life in Rockingham County. Nan retired as nursing director of Fellowship Hall in Greensboro after over thirty years of service. As a longtime member of Community Baptist Church, she taught Awanas and Sunday School for many years. After her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated Gilbert’s Arts and Frames in downtown Reidsville. She enjoyed passing the time with crossword puzzles, her daily coke-a-cola and an ice cream cone. Nan spent her final years surrounded by family in her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Cox Strickland and her brothers: James D Bailey and Kenneth Sam Bailey.                                                                                     Survivors include her daughter Lori S Price, four grandchildren: Jeremy Stalvey (Lisa), Christa Isley (Patrick), Seth Price, Zachary Price and her sister Mary Bailey McCollum and her husband Mac all of Reidsville, NC.                                                                                                                     In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Ancora Compassionate Care  P.O.
