Mickey Lee Vernon, 55, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Wednesday April 1, 2026 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday April 8, 2026 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. The family will see friends following the service at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of his mother 157 Irvin Farm Rd. Reidsville.
A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of Janice Carter Walker and the late Jimmy Vernon and had lived most of his life in Rockingham County. He was a self-employed paint contractor, was involved in genealogy and loved antiques. Mickey loved people and was friendly to everyone. Along with his father Jimmy Vernon, Mickey was preceded in death by his step-brother Donnie Walker.
Survivors include: his mother: Janice C. Walker (Robert) of Reidsville, sisters: Kim Vernon and Crystal V. Morris (Rick) both of Reidsville, step-brothers: Tony Walker (Elena) of Reidsville, and Matt Joyce (Christina) of Stoneville, step-sisters: Shannon Fain (Steve) and Tonia Purgason both of Stoneville, nieces and nephews: Brittany Dickerson, Hunter Dickerson (Brittney), Jessica Dickerson, Courtney Whittaker (Zach), Andrew Fain (Sydney), Cody Fain, Lucas Morris, and Kamrie Morris.
