Michael Woodrow “Mike” Peters, 75, of 110 South Alena Court in Hampstead, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Growing Oaks Community Church with Rev. Tommy Massey and Dr. Greg Robertson officiating. A native of Martinsville, VA, he was a son of the late Clovis Woodrow and Virginia Watkins Peters and he had lived most of his life in Reidsville before moving to Surf City. He was a 1964 Graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, and a member of the Reidsville Golden Lions State championship football team, as well as a founding member of the Tropics, a beach music band.  He attended Appalachian State University. He was an employee of Hooper and Moore in his early years, and went on to sell Life insurance, real estate and timeshare for most of his career. He was a District manager for Life and Casualty Insurance company, as well as a Life Underwriters Training Council Trainer, and a member of the President’s Council for Wyndham Resorts.  He was also the owner of the Farmers Table Restaurant for 14 years. He was a member of the Reidsville Lion’s club and the Gideons International. He was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Reidsville, where he was a worship leader, before moving to the beach and becoming a member of Chapel By The Bay, in Surf City, NC He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he loved to hunt and fish, loved living at the beach, loved music, but he loved God more than anything else in his life. Surviving is his wife: Patricia Eddins Peters of the home, sons: Michael Peters and wife, Christina of Reidsville & David Peters and wife, Allison of Surf City, grandchildren, Wyatt, Alexis and Hannah.
