Mary Elizabeth Whitley Kennon

Mary Elizabeth Whitley Kennon, 69, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Friday February 10, 2023 at her home. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Mary was a devoted wife of 46 years and mother of three daughters. Early years she attended Rockingham Community College where she graduated with an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies. The majority of her years were spent as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking southern style meals for her family. Everyone, friends and family, enjoyed her carrot cakes, fried chicken, and gravy. She was pleased to pass her love for southern style cooking down to her two oldest daughters. Her carrot cake recipe will be enjoyed for many years to come. She was a full time caregiver of her special needs daughter with Down’s Syndrome. The greatest joy of Mary’s life were her 3 grandchildren. She treasured the time spent with them and had a special appreciation for each grandchild’s individual gifts and talents. Mary’s health had declined for many years and was ready to go home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Logan Kennon , and her parents Harry and Ellen Lenehan Whitley. She is survived by her daughters; Michele K. Boaz (Stacy), Mary K. Conner (Jeff) and Pamela D. Kennon all of Reidsville, brothers: Patrick Whitley (Brenda) of Midlothian, VA, William Whitley (Libby) and Paul Whitley (Judy) both of Rockingham NC, and Lacey Whitley (Ruthie ) of Chesapeake, VA, sisters: Noreen Griffith (Oakes) of Danville, VA, Margaret Powell (Elvis), Cecilia Wilson (Bobby), Loretta Whitley, Joan Ollice (Mark),and Michelle Whitley all of Rockingham, NC, Eileen Hall of Spartanburg, SC, Kathleen Whitley of Cary, NC, grandchildren: Olivia Boaz, Claire Boaz, and Cole Conner.
