Mary Cliborne Dove

Mary Cliborne Dove, 84, of Burlington went to be with the Lord Thursday November 13, 2025 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday November 18, 2025 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gordon Wong officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery. The family will see friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday November 18, 2025 before the service at Citty Funeral Home.

A native of Rockingham County, Mary was a daughter of the late Claude William and Fannie Somers Cliborne. She had lived in Burlington for the past ten years. A retired employee of Burlington Industries, she was a member of St. Mark’s Community Church in Burlington and a former member of First Congregational Christian Church in Reidsville. Mary enjoyed attending the Senior Center in Burlington and Sunday School at St. Mark’s Community Church.

In her younger years, she loved her fast cars and Elvis. Mary looked forward to spending time with her granddaughters spoiling them rotten and as they got older attending their volleyball games.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Bill and Ellis Cliborne and her sister: Christine Gentry.    

Survivors include her son: William Ronald “Ronnie” Dove (Oddete) of Burlington, grandchildren: Renee Dove and Samantha Dove, brother Kennerth Cliborne (Kathryn) of Mayodan, and sister: Kathy Cliborne of Reidsville.
