Mary Stackhouse Briggs

Mary Stackhouse Briggs, 102, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 06, 2020, at the Hospice Home of Rockingham Co.

Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, the family will have a private funeral service for Mrs. Briggs at Woodmont United Methodist Church and she will be united with her loving husband:  Paul Fields “Mike” Briggs, Sr. in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

A native of Marion, SC, she was a daughter of the late Isaac P. and Mary Lane Stackhouse and she had lived in Reidsville since 1945.  Mrs. Briggs was a charter member of Woodmont United Methodist Church, and its oldest member, a member of the Reidsville Woman’s Club and a charter member of the Hoe and Hope Garden Club.  She Loved her church and her family and enjoyed working in her yard & flowers and playing bridge.  Mrs. Briggs was preceded in death by her parents, her husband;  Paul F. “Mike” Briggs” , 2 brothers, & 1 sister.

Surviving is her son; Paul F. Briggs, Jr. and wife:  Judy of Winston-Salem, 2 daughters; Rebecca B. Hook and husband:  Rod of Reidsville and Ann B. Talley and husband:  Robert of Wilmington, grandchildren; Stephanie Evans and husband:  Keith, Derik Briggs and wife:  Bree, Chris Talley and wife:  Andrea and Brian Talley and wife:  Nicole, 9 great grandchildren.  The family would like to thank Dr. Edward L. Hawkins and his staff for their care and concern.

Memorials may be made to Woodmont United Methodist Church 1926 Richardson Dr.  Reidsville, NC  27320. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Briggs Family and you are invited to come by the funeral home on Friday (Aug. 7, 2020) between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00PM to sign a register and pay your respects to Mrs. Briggs.
