Mark Hopkins Gibbs, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday February 18, 2025.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 23, 2025 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Bray officiating. Burial will be in the Gibbs Family Cemetery on the Gibbs farm. The family will see friends 5:00 till 7:00 P.M. Saturday February 22, 2025 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of Joanna Hopkins Gibbs and the late Eugene Secor Gibbs. A retired commercial airlines pilot having worked for CC Air, Mesa Airlines and he retired from United Airlines. He was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church and had lived in Rockingham County most of his life. Mark loved vintage Ford Broncos and has owned and raced several in his life. He enjoyed flying RC Airplanes and driving in Mud Boggs and owned a special truck for this purpose. He owned and operated Gibbs Grading and looked forward to working outside running his grading equipment and dump trucks. Mark was preceded in death by his son: Mackenzie Gibbs and his father: Eugene Secor Gibbs.
Survivors include his wife of ten years: Tracy Leigh Ragan Gibbs of the home, his sons: Justin Holt Gibbs of Ruffin and Trey Elrod of Gilbert, SC, his mother : Joanna Hopkins Gibbs of Reidsville, brothers: Daryl Gibbs(Emily) of Inman, SC, and Michael Gibbs of Greensboro, sisters: Lisa Provence of Charlotteville, VA, Janet Gibbs of Eden, and Nancy Sodano (Marc) of Holly Springs, NC, a grandson: Waylon Gibbs of Ruffin and many loving nieces and nephews.
