Marie Vaughn Swift, 91, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Authoracare Collective Hospice Home in Burlington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2025, at Camp Springs Community Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from to 1:00 till 2:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the church prior to the service.
A native of Rockingham Co., she was a daughter of the late Percy and Lucy Wall Vaughn and she had lived in Elon for the past 30 years. Marie was a homemaker, a member of Camp Springs Community Church, the Burlington YMCA and the Thorndale Country Club. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf, playing bridge and square dancing with her husband. Marie was a big Duke basketball fan and she was a great cook and was renowned for her corn pudding recipe. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: John Herbert Swift, her brother: Billy Vaughn, and her sisters: Helen V. Stanfield and Vera V. Stanfield.
She is survived by her sons: Johnny Swift (Linda) of Greenville, SC and Randall Kent Swift (Misty) of High Point, her sister: Linda V. Tate of Wilmington, her grandchildren: Carolyn Heritage (Steve), Amy Johnson (Robert), Lauren Swartz (Billy), Randall Kent Swift II (Mary) and Jessica Kluger (Alex), her great grandchildren: Bodey Swift Johnson, Vera Louise Johnson, Fiona Swartz, Zeke Swartz, Meyer Kluger and 2 more on the way.
