Madeline Ola Smith “Lean” Parrott, 94, of Greensboro went to be with the Lord Monday July 26, 2021 at her home. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday July 28, 2021 in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Heath Lloyd officiating. The family will see friends following the service in the fellowship hall of Fairview Baptist Church and at other times will be at the residence. A native of Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James U. and Callie Keller Smith and had lived in Greensboro most of her life. She was a former employee of Sears and later worked with her husband at Awards by Parrott the family owned trophy shop. She enjoyed gardening, her cats, word search puzzles, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Madeline was preceded by her husband: Charles Rufus “Bob” Parrott, her brothers: George Herman “Al” Smith, Offitt Smith, Barney “Joe” Smith, Edward O. “Caney” Smith, Clifton Smith, and Paul Thomas Smith, and by her sisters: Etta S. Teague, Lucille S. Johnson, and Blanche S. Hepler. Survivors include her daughter: Cynthia M. “Cindy” Parrott and husband Phillip E. Hyatt of Reidsville, her son: Charles R. “Charlie” Parrott, Jr. and wife Candace of Charlotte, sister: Betty Pauline “Polly” Griffin of Kernersville, grandchildren: Arielle Habet, Amir Habet, Phillip Hyatt, Grant Hyatt, and Nicole Hyatt, great grandchildren: Max Jackson, Louisa Nelson, and Lydia Nelson, and her caregivers: Ester Wallace, Diane Nabiglia, and Angel Hamby.
