Lucy Jane (Smith) Price

Lucy Smith Price, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Annie Penn Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Penn Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Cress Warner officiating.  Internment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Abbottsburg, North Carolina, in Bladen Co., she was a daughter of the late Charles Patrick and Lucy Loreen Ballantine Smith and she had lived in Reidsville, North Carolina since 2006.  Prior to moving here, she and her husband lived in Apopka, Florida.  Mrs. Price was an active member of Penn Memorial Baptist Church, the Gideon Auxiliary, and she played basketball in high school as well as for her sorority in college.  She loved Jesus and was very active in church her entire life.  Mrs. Price had been an administrative assistant, a realtor, a homemaker, and she and Ron had been very active in the Republican Party.  Her late father served in the 12th Aero Squadron of the Army Expeditionary Forces in France during WWI. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Juanita S. Downs (Charles), Cuthbert P. Smith (Connie), Charles “Pug” W. Smith (Hazel), Haynes C. Smith (Frances), Josephus D. Smith (Wanda), Rosalind J. Smith, Hugh F. Smith (Vivian), and Flora Ann Smith, a grandson, Joshua David Langston. Surviving is her husband, Ron F. Price of Reidsville, North Carolina, son, Phillip Filer Price of Eden, North Carolina, daughter, Deborah Ann Price Langston (David) of Reidsville, North Carolina, sister, Judy S. Liles (David) of Suffolk, Virginia, grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Langston, Josiah Price Langston, Jeremiah David Langston, Connor Phillip Price, and Jedidiah Gracen Langston, sister-in-law, Vivian Pate Smith of Williamston, North Carolina. The family will see friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2023, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times, they will be at the residence.  Memorials may be made to:  Rockingham Council of Bible Education P.O.
