Larry Wray Boyd

Larry Wray Boyd, 75, of Reidsville , went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 8, 2018.

A native of Rockingham Co., he was a son of the late Woyce Dexter Boyd and Mattie Boyd Hopkins and had lived in Reidsville most of his life.  Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.He loved the outdoors especially fishing at the coast with friends and family.   He took great pride in attending events that his children and grandchildren participated in.  He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a former employee of Equity Foods and McKinney’s Grocery.  Larry was an active member of Thompsonville Baptist Church where he has served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Handyman Ministry which fostered his woodworking talent along with helping those in need.  He was preceded in death by his brothers:  Donald Wayne Boyd and David Morris Jr.

Surviving is his wife; Geraldine McKinney Boyd of the home, daughter;  Deena Boyd Jones (Brent) of Reidsville, son; Todd Boyd (Meghann) of Greenville, NC, , brother;  Mike Boyd (Faye) of Hampton, VA, sister;  Terri Prusia (Al) of Reidsville, grandchildren;  Lukas Jones, Owen Boyd, Cian Boyd, and Finnnegan Boyd.

There will be no formal visitation.  Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Boyd Family.  Military graveside rites will be conducted at 11:00AM Friday, October 12, 2018,by the Rockingham Co.
