Kay Hedrick McCannon

Kay Hedrick McCannon, 75, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Lloyd officiating and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will see friends at Fairview Baptist Church on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 12:00 Noon and at other times at the residence, 196 Shagbark Dr.  Summerfield, NC 27358.

A native of Guilford Co. she was a daughter of the late Paul Stanley and Sarah Helen McPherson Hedrick and had lived her entire life in Summerfield.  Kay was a retired employee of Harris Teeter grocery stores with over 40 years service.  She had served as a store manager for many years before becoming a human resources specialist.  Kay was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she was very active before her health declined.  She was preceded in death by her husband:  James Guildfred McCannon, her brothers:  Jack Hedrick and Tommy Hedrick and by two of her sisters:  Linda H. Hodges and Ann H. Peoples.

Surviving is her daughter:  Paula M. Smith (Dewayne) of Reidsville and her sisters:  Vicki H. Smith (Dudley) of Lawsonville, Margaret H. Arnold of High Point, and Becky H. Tuggle (Larry) of Summerfield and by her granddaughter:  Emma Kay Smith of Reidsville.
