Kathy Dell (Smith) Soyars

Kathy Smith Soyars, 76, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Gibson House.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Citty Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will see friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

A native of Rockingham Co., she was a daughter of the late Odell Hanes and Kathleen Cassidy Smith and she had lived in Reidsville all of her life.  She is a member of Salem United Methodist Church and she operated a daycare out of her home for many years.  Kathy was known as Meme by all of the children that she cared for.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Elwood Soyars.

Surviving is her son:  Justin Soyars of Reidsville, her daughter:  Janae Carter (Scott) of Reidsville, her brother:  Phillip Smith (Pat) of Reidsville her sister-in-law:  Tammy and Rick Hopper of Reidsville, her grandchildren:  Faith Davis, Lilly Soyars & Gracelyn Soyars.  The family would like to thank her caregivers:  Pat Smith, Tammy Hopper Jennifer Moore, Ann Crowder & Marsha Lankford.
