Kathie Howell Scott

Kathie Howell Scott, 69, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Rockingham Co. Hospice Gibson House.

A native of Rockingham Co., she was the daughter of Dainty Hylton Joyce and the late Noel Dalton Howell. Kathie was a devoted and beloved member of Freedom Baptist Church. Kathie enjoyed caring for her flowers and plants, crocheting, crafting, painting, doing various art projects, taking trips to the beach and spending time with family. She retired from ZARN and White Ridge Plastics in Reidsville.

She is survived by her mother, Dainty Hylton Joyce of Eden, her long-time fiancé and love of her life, Tommy Ashburn of Reidsville; four daughters, Lynn P. McNabb of Eden, Linda M. Pulliam, Leslie P. Barton (Troy), and Audrey “Lori” Romano (Eduardo) of Utah and fiancé’s children; TJ Ashburn (Beth), Shannon Franklin (Clint) and Shayna Gates all of Reidsville; brothers, Earl Howell (Tammy) of Stuart, VA, and Doug Howell of Eden and 15 grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Citty Funeral Home in Reidsville and other times at Kathie’s residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Warner officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the church’s cemetery.
