Judith Cook Pearson

Judith Cook “Judy” Pearson, 74, of Summerfield, NC went to be with the Lord on Monday October 18, 2021 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 AM Saturday October 23, 2021 at Fairview Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will see friends 10:30 AM till 11:30 AM Saturday October 23, 2021 before the service at Fairview Baptist Church.  A native of Wilson, NC, she was a daughter of the late Richard Andrew and Blanche Adams Cook and had lived in Rockingham County for the past 52 years. She was a retired administrative assistant at Reidsville Senior High School and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she served as the leader of the Prayer Warriors, the leader of the Children’s Church, and served in various leadership positions throughout the years. A great woman of faith, she led many people to salvation. Judy enjoyed writing poetry, music, cooking and collecting anything to do with cows. She directed many weddings, and loved the farm life. A take charge kind of person, Judy was very family oriented and enjoyed attending any family function. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Alton Pearson, Sr., her son: Eddie Cooke, Jr. and a sister Delores Cone. Survivors include her sisters: Brenda C. Jackson (Richard) of Clayton, and Linda C. Pike (Cliff) of Elm City, NC, brother: Richard Cook (Teresa) of Wilson, step-son: Charles Alton Pearson, Jr. (Lisa) of Summerfield, step-daughters: Pamela Kim Pearson, and Altina P. Layman (Nial) both of Greensboro, honorary daughter: Jackie Whicker (Kenny) of Reidsville, seven step-grandchildren and her fur baby: Cinnamon.
