Joshua Richard Phillips

Joshua Richard Phillips, 36, of Reidsville died Wednesday July 12, 2023 at UNC Heath Lenoir in Kinston, NC.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

He was born in Guilford County, a son of Wanda Stallings Phillips and the late Dennis Edward Phillips and had lived most of his life in Rockingham County. He was formerly employed as a landscaper and handyman. Joshua was a member of First United Methodist Church (now Woodmont United Methodist Church) and was active in Boy Scout Troop 789 at the church when he was younger. He enjoyed camping, hiking, nature, helping other people, and truly loved all animals. He built his mother a goldfish pond which gave her great joy. Joshua was preceded in death by his father: Dennis Edward Phillips, his maternal grandfather: Roy Phillip Stallings Jr., and his paternal grandparents: Richard L. and Inez Carter Phillips.

Survivors include: his mother: Wanda Stallings Phillips of Reidsville, brother: Jeremiah E. Phillips (Jamie) of Kernersville, grandmother: Lorene P. Stallings of Reidsville, girlfriend: Nicole Bailey of Madison, niece: Grayson Phillips of Kernersville, nephew: Eli Phillips of Kernersville, honorary grandmother: Marlene Stallings of Reidsville, numerous uncles, cousins and extended family members.
