Joseph Glenn “Joe” Hammack, 72, of Caswell County went to be with the Lord Thursday September 28, 2023 at his home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday October 2, 2023 in Trinity Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Simmons officiating. Following the service, the family will see friends in the fellowship hall of the church and at other times at the home of his sister Betsy Hammack.
A native of Caswell County, he was a son of the late Douglas W. and Nellie Wray Hammack and had lived in Caswell County his entire life. He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where he was a former member of the cemetery committee of the church. A retired carpentry teacher at Bartlett Yancey High School where he taught for 28 years. Joe enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and traveling and was a former member of the Casville Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his brother: William Douglas “Billy” Hammack.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Susan Jenkins Hammack of the home, a son: Brian C. Hammack of Yanceyville, brother: Donald C. Hammack of Yanceyville, sisters: Betsy Ann Hammack of Yanceyville, and Barbara Jean Shelton (Roger) of Reidsville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
