Kris died July 2, 2025 and went to take his place in God’s heart, after living a full and productive life. Kris was born July 16, 1949 to J. B. and Pattie Rogers of Reidsville, who preceded him in death along with his brother Steve.
He graduated from Reidsville High School where he served as president of the Key Club and quarterback of the football team, the Reidsville Lions. He was a graduate of UNC-CH majoring in Business Administration and established a successful business as a building contractor, Kris Rogers and Co. general contracting. He built and renovated many homes and buildings in the Reidsville area.
Boy Scouts were an important work he greatly enjoyed and encouraged participation in. As assistant scout leader for Troop 797, he supported all members to work towards living the scout motto.
As a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Kris served in roles including Senior and Junior Wardens and working with the men’s club to organize the pancake supper, shrimp fests, and oyster roasts. His sense of humor and laughter were appreciated by all members.
Kris had a vision to create a family and friends’ recreation and retreat on the farm where he lived with his wife and son. He built a cabin and pond which have been well used by many for fun outings and overnights. He loved bringing joy and great memories to all who enjoyed the “Watt Rogers” play place.
Kris was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and had enjoyed teaching his skills to friends and family, which enriched many lives. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Anne Watt Rogers, son Kristensen Watt Rogers, brother-in-law Price Watt and wife Lesa, sister-in-law Freda D. Watt, nephews John Rogers and wife Jennifer, and Chase Rogers, nieces Nancy W. Marin and husband Mark, Elizabeth W. Vannoy, and Kara R Payne, and eleven great nieces and nephews.
We offer many thanks to the family and friends who have fed, prayed, loved and supported us through this hard time.
