John William Noell

John William Noell, 81, went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Global Methodist church with Rev. Tim James officiating.  The family will see friends immediately following the service and at other times, they will be at the residence.

A native of Durham, he was a son of the late Algernon Stanford and Marjorie Currin Noell and had lived in Reidsville since 1984.  John was a retired supervisor in the leaf department of the American Tobacco Co., a member of Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church, a US Marine Corps Veteran, and a member of the Reidsville Elks Club. He was a member of the Buffalo Masonic Lodge and the AMRAN Shrine Temple.  John was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother:  Algernon Stanford Noell, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years:  Ann Marie Nelson Noell of the home and his son:  John William “Jay” Noell II (Anna) of Conover, his sister:  Catherine N. Medlin of Durham, and his 2 grandchildren:  William Gabriel Noell and Ava Grace Noell.
