Joel Brackett Jackson

Joel Brackett Jackson Sr., 89, of Penhook, Virginia, originally of Reidsville, North Carolina was born on December 14, 1936.  He went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 10, 2026.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026 at Greenwood Presbyterian Church located at 618 Narrow Gauge Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320 with Wayne Robertson officiating.  Visitation with family will follow the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Brackett Jackson and Eleanor Adkins Jackson of Reidsville, his brother Jerry Jackson and wife, Glena Jackson.  He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Mary B. Robertson. 

Joel worked for American Tobacco Company for 32 years in management. He was a graduate of Ruffin High School and Guilford College.  Joel enjoyed farming, flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, boating on the lake, and driving fast cars. During his retirement years, Joel enjoyed traveling with his wife Bonnie across the USA and Europe and stopping to meet new friends along the way.

Joel enjoyed life with his wife, Bonnie Merritt Jackson for 42 wonderful fun filled years. Joel raised his four children, teaching them to live life to the fullest and the importance of family. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home; his son, Brackett Jackson and wife Manda of Reidsville; daughter, Jill Jackson of Reidsville and special friend Brian Harrison; daughter, Kim Gammon of Reidsville and special friend Archie Witty; son, Keith Gammon of Reidsville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
