Jay Ralph McCollum

Jay Ralph McCollum, 92, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday April 9, 2024 at his home.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday April 12, 2024 at First Baptist Church. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. The family will see friends 10:00 till 11:00 AM Friday before the service at the church and at other times will be at the residence.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Ralph and Annie Belle Wilson McCollum and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He was the former owner/operator of McAlister Oil Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was the Past Master of Jefferson Penn Masonic Lodge #384 AF&AM, The Reidsville, Elks Lodge, and The Baracca Sunday School Class at the church, He was named Boss of the Year by the Reidsville Chapter of Reidsville Secretaries Association, and was a member of The Board of Directors of NCNB. Jay was preceded in death by his son: Breck Lane McCollum, and a daughter: Sloane McCollum Foster.

Survivors include: his wife: Gilda McKinney McCollum of the home, his son: Dr. Eric McCollum, DDS (Debbie) and a daughter Christie Miller Bates of Cary, grandchildren: Lindsey Bates, Mason Foster, Alexander Bates, and Dillon Foster.
