James Lee Griffin

James Lee Griffin, 89, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Sunday November 22, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday November 25, 2020 in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family request that masks be worn and that social distancing be observed. A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Royal Glenn and Mary Pearson Griffin and had lived most of his life in Rockingham County. He was a retired employee of Sears Mail-Order in Greensboro, and was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church where he had served on numerous committees throughout his life. He was a founding member of Monroeton Volunteer Fire Department and was very active in Boys Scout Troop # 797 at Fairview and Speedwell. He enjoyed gardening and sharing the bountiful vegetable harvest, he also enjoyed woodworking and was an accomplished carpenter. James Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Rosa Irene Stone Griffin, a son: David Lee Griffin, a daughter: Rosa Sue Griffin and a great grandson: Jeremiah Hayden. Survivors include daughters: Janet G. Brame (Freddie) of Reidsville, Nancy G. Wright (Ronald) of Hubert, NC, and Nettie Griffin of Germanton, NC, brother: Herbert G. Griffin (Shirley) of Reidsville, and a sister: Pattie O’Bryant of Reidsville, 12 Grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren.
