James Leroy Goin

James Leroy Goin, II, 50, of Eden, went to be with the Lord Thursday September 9, 2021 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday September 13, 2021 at Thompsonville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. There will be no formal visitation. A native of Caswell County, he was the son of Carolyn Brown Hampton and the late James L. Goin and had lived in Rockingham County most of his life. He was a paramedic having worked for Caswell Co. EMS, Regional One in Danville, VA, the ER Department at Carilion Memorial Hospital Roanoke, VA, Franklin County Department of Public Safety, and was retired from Rockingham County EMS. James was a member of the Oregon Hill Vol. Fire Department and had worked at the Williamsburg Vol. Fire Department. He enjoyed reading and his six dogs and was preceded in death by his father: James Leroy Goin and his father-in-law: Donnie Walker. Survivors include his wife: Devin Walker “Shelly” Goin of the home, sons: Patrick Sean Goin of Winston-Salem, NC, and Jason Bradley Goin of Rocky Mount, VA, mother: Carolyn Brown Hampton (Stephen) of Roanoke, VA,  sister: Lilly Castelli (Anthony) of Hammonton, NJ, brother: Tim Goin (Kathy) of Portsmouth, VA, mother-in-law: Guynell Walker of Reidsville, special friends: Jessica Utter and Theresa Waddell and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
