Ida Travis Jones

                Ida Travis Jones, 94, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday June 21, 2022 at Gibson House Hospice of Rockingham County. Graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, June 24, 2022 in Thompsonville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors after the service in the church fellowship hall. (Feel free to wear masks at the reception following the service) Mrs. Jones was a native of Caswell County and lived most of her life in the Williamsburg community. She was the daughter of the late Allen Gunn Travis and Vella Crumpton Travis and was a retired employee of American Tobacco Company where she worked for 44 years. Before her health began to fail she was a dedicated member of Thompsonville Baptist Church and was an active member of the Sunshine Girls Sunday School Class. She enjoyed word search puzzles, reading, gardening, canning, and preserving her vegetables.  She truly enjoyed family gatherings.She was predeceased in death by her husband, Eugene Wood Jones; a sister Rosa Ellington; a brother A.G. Travis; and brothers-in-law, J.C. Barts and Jack Ellington. Ida is survived by her son Bobby W. Jones and wife Margaret of Reidsville; her daughter Ann J. Johnson of Lincolnton; her grandsons Alexander W. Jones and Cameron H. Johnson; her brother James Travis; her sister Francis T. Barts both of Reidsville; and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Travis of Greensboro and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale of Reidsville and to Hospice of Rockingham County, for their compassion and care of Ida over the years and during her final days.
