Horace Marvin Lewey, Jr. 83, of Eden, went to be with the Lord Thursday December 11, 2025 at his home.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 Saturday December 20, 2025 in Spray United Methodist Church with military rites and Rev. Sue Anne Morris officiating. The family will see friends following the service in the reception area of the church.
A native of Guilford County, he was a son of the late Horace Marvin and Mildred Durham Lewey and had lived most of his life in Eden. Known as Marvin to his friends and family, he was a US Coast Guard veteran having served eleven years with pride. After his time in the Coast Guard Marvin worked as a security guard in Florida before moving back to North Carolina. He attended Spray United Methodist Church and was a member of William C. Johnson American Legion Post #534 in Mayodan, NC. in his younger years he was a CB and Ham Radio enthusiast. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife: Jennifer Hobbs Lewey, a sister: Rilla Marianne Reynolds, and a brother: James Richard Lewey.
Survivors include his daughter: Kristen Nicole Lewey of Raleigh, and a sister: Marie Newsome of Low Gap, NC
